Rep. Norton Accepting Academy Applications

Students interested in attending a military academy must typically be nominated by a member of Congress. If you are (or know) a DC student interested in attending the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, the U.S. Naval Academy at Annapolis, the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy at Kings Point, or the U.S. Air Force Academy at Colorado Springs, please contact the office of Rep. Eleanor Holmes Norton as soon as possible. The U.S. Coast Guard Academy accepts directs admissions and a Congressional nomination is not required.

Academies are open to students 17 to 23 years old. Successful candidates must commit to a minimum of 9 years of service to the military (4 years at the academy and at least 5 years of active duty service).

For more information on the Congressional nomination process, please contact Rep. Norton's NW District office at 202-783-5056 or visit her website.
