Chavez Parkside Middle School Wins City-wide Public Policy Competition

For the second consecutive year, middle school students from Mr. Toomer's classes at Cesar Chavez's Parkside Campus won the District of Columbia Project Citizen Showcase. The annual event was held on June 3, 2010, at the Charles Sumner School Museum and Archives. Following are some pictures from the day which was kicked-off with a fabulous interactive presentation on freedom of expression by constitutional activist Mary Beth Tinker (Tinker v. Des Moines).
