And these are only some of the activities they completed while studying the U.S. Constitution in their 8th grade history class. Other activities include:
- Critiqued the Capitol Visitor Center with Maria Marable for the US Capitol Visitor Center
- We the People Essay Writing (two formal essays)
- In-school We the People simulated congressional hearings
- Memorized the 44 Presidents
- Watched the State of the Union Address with pre- and post-lessons relating to the State of the Union
- Created "We the ________" Children’s Books
- Went to Peabody Pre-K classes to share students’ "We the ________" Children’s Books
- Our Courts presented to students in a formalized program at Stuart-Hobson
- Visited the National Portrait Gallery and/or the National Museum of American History to view portraiture/objects about the American Presidency
- Posted blogs about the Trolley Tour
- Posted blogs about either the U.S. Capitol trip, "We the ________" Children's Books, or State of the Union
- Interviewed a parent/adult about their first time voting for a president
- Memorized portion of the Declaration of Independence
